Medicare’s Announcement & Changes To CDM

Through changes to Medicare and it’s Chronic Disease Management which impacts a range of allied healthcare providers, you may be eligible. Item 10964 of the Medicare Benefits Schedule outlines further details about the benefit.

What’s Covered?

Only spinal manipulation (aka chiropractic adjustments) are eligible under Medicare.

How It Works

  • Medicare offers a rebate for some services, up to 5 subsidised visits per year. You pay in full for your session, and submit records to Medicare in order to access the partial reimbursement.
  • Your GP will assess whether chiropractic care is necessary for your treatment plan. If treatments are necessary, a referral will be provided under the CDM plan.
  • You must visit an accredited chiropractor, approved under the CDM plan,
