Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care – and with good reason. Research continues to support chiropractic treatment as a safe, effective option for managing and relieving musculoskeletal back pain. At Lamp Chiropractic, our approach goes beyond just relieving discomfort. We focus on treating the underlying cause, promoting healing, and helping you prevent it from returning.
Our team follow an evidence-based approach to treatment, and can assist with supporting you through:
Spinal adjustments, also known as spinal manipulation, are at the core of chiropractic care. When joints in your spine become restricted and lose their natural lubrication (synovial fluid), your body firstly compensates (leans away from your problem) until this is no longer possible, then secondly your surrounding muscles tighten up to protect the area. These tight muscles can irritate nearby nerves, causing neuropathy that can lead to transmission of pins and needles, numbness, burning aches and pains down your arms, legs or cause headaches.
Our gentle adjustments restore joint movement by returning your joint fluid back into the joint space. This reduces friction (your pain) and allows your tissue to heal. The result? Less pain, and a straighter posture. With better structure, your whole body functions better.
Tight, stiff muscles often go hand-in-hand with back pain. To help ease this tension, our chiropractors use a range of muscle relaxation techniques including:
These therapies help reduce muscle spasms, improve flexibility, and relieve the discomfort that can build up in your muscles.
Our chiropractors can improve your posture by finding and fixing the root cause. Most people don’t realise that poor posture happens when the body is trying to protect itself from pain. If a joint in your body is irritated or not working properly, the body shifts to lean or move to take pressure off that area. This can make the pain feel better, or even take it away, but over time it causes your posture to change. The goal of our Chiropractic care is to stop the pain/damage rapidly, allowing the injured area to heal. Once it heals, your body no longer needs to lean or protect itself, and your posture can return to normal.
But we don’t just treat the problem – we also help you prevent it from coming back. We give you simple advice on how to move better in everyday life, including easy stretches, posture tips, and safe ways to sit, lift, and work. This helps support your body and keep you feeling strong and healthy in the long run.
At Lamp Chiropractic, we believe education is key to lasting relief. Our team will teach you how to move well and lift safely to avoid future injury. We also prescribe gentle, targeted strategies to help
We’re here to guide you at every step, from early recovery to full rehabilitation.
Your back pain often doesn’t exist in isolation. That’s why we take a holistic approach that considers your lifestyle, activity levels, diet, stress, and more. These factors can all influence your health, so we’ll work with you to create a tailored plan that fits your goals and supports your overall wellbeing.
In some cases, effective back pain management involves a team. Our chiropractors work closely with GPs, Specialists, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure you receive the best care possible. If a multi-disciplinary approach is needed, we’ll help coordinate it so your recovery is always moving forward.
While chiropractic care helps many people with back pain, every case is unique. We’ll take the time to assess your condition and discuss whether our treatment approach is right for you. If we believe another therapy would be complimentary, we’ll point you in the right direction.
